Nothing has to be found first. It is lying in plain sight, you can describe it, and the only remaining question is what it costs to have it gone. That makes this the quickest kind of job to put a figure on.
Six spots that come up constantly
Animals die where they were sheltering or where they stopped, so the same half dozen spots come up again and again on Berks County calls: hard against a foundation or a retaining wall, tucked beneath decking or a porch step, down in a window well, in the strip nobody walks between a shed and a fence line, and on commercial ground beside the dumpster enclosure. Describing which one it is tells the operator almost everything.
Leave it exactly where it is
Dragging or shoveling one tends to come apart halfway, and it brings your hands near whatever has been feeding on it. Where it genuinely cannot stay put, invert a bin over the top and let the ground below it alone. What has soaked into that ground is frequently the part that still smells after the animal itself has gone.
Skunks are worth flagging early
Weight is not the issue. What a skunk can do to a vehicle and a set of clothes when handled badly is. Name it on the call. Whether an operator takes that work, and what it does to the price, is theirs to say and this site does not answer it on their behalf.
City lot or township lot
